Elliott's
first meeting of the season was at Low Gelt, Brampton for the first
round of the E.C.M.C.C. Auto championship. The riders are usually
split into two groups 'A' and Juniors, the riders that remained
from the A's last year would be joined by the top ten riders from
last years Auto Junior Championship. The rest of the Auto Junior
riders and the new riders for this season would make up the new
Auto Junior Group.
With only
eleven riders attending this early meeting it was decided to run
both groups together.
The track
was very slippy with the overnight frost making the ground really
hard and most of the riders were struggling for grip, Elliott had
made a poor start and was sitting in around fifth place. He started
to gain and pass the riders in front of him getting himself into
second place before he fell to the floor putting the power on to
early coming out of the bottom corner, he was now in sixth and once
again had to catch the leaders. Once again he did so before falling
once more, he was struggling for grip all the way round the track,
he wasn't the only one as riders continuously fell going into and
out of the corners. He eventually finished fourth behind the winner
John - Joe Wright, Matthew Deazley and Johnathon Hughes
Race two was
much the same but this time Elliott took second place behind John
- Joe, Matthew Deazley after a big off whilst in second place eventually
finished in fifth place.
With John
- Joe now leading by 15 points the battle was now on for second.
Elliott was second only two points ahead of Matthew as they lined
up for the third and final race. Elliott got his best start of the
day but was still sitting behind John - Joe and Matthew, he raced
well to pass Matthew only to fall one lap later re-starting back
in fourth and battling with Dan Bewley. He eventually passed Dan
and was gaining on Matthew with every lap, after making another
couple of errors he wasn't able to catch Matthew who held on to
second place to clinch second overall behind John - Joe, who took
his third win of the day. Elliott finishing third overall

Round
two and the track was perfect for the days racing. Race 1 and Elliott
was sitting in 3rd place behind Matthew Deazley and Callum Bircher
as they headed up the back straight, after a couple of laps he had
passed Matthew and was chasing Callum. Elliott finally took first
place and he was starting to open up a small lead. Little did he
know that John Joe was chasing hard through the pack behind him
after a poor start, with about four laps remaining John Joe had
caught him up but the way Elliott was riding there was no way he
was going to let this win slip away. He took the chequered flag
with John Joe right behind him in second and Callum third.
Race
two and Elliott got the holeshot into the first corner (that's another
tenner out of my pocket) but John Joe had other ideas as he came
out of the second corner on the inside of Elliott to take the lead.
It was Elliott now doing the chasing and you couldn't separate them
through out the whole race, John Joe couldn't pull away and Elliott
couldn't get past what ever he tried. They lapped up to sixth place
in the race and finished as close as they did in race 1 but John
Joe this time taking the win, Elliott second and Callum once again
in third.
It
all came down to race 3, Callum took the holeshot yet again with
John Joe behind him and Elliott in third. John Joe took Callum for
the lead a few laps into the race Elliott took second a lap or two
later but John Joe was flying and had now opened up a safe gap between
him and Elliott. Elliott never gave up riding as well as he had
done all day to finish second once more ahead of third placed Bradley
Mann.
John Joe once
again took the overall win but Elliott after the last meeting and
not getting anywhere near him had this time pushed him all the way
and in doing so picked up a well earned second place.

During
the winter the club had put the start gates on concrete to allow
the riders a better start compared to the deep sand of the previous
season. Elliott started race one well, he had a really good start
with only Callum Bircher doing better taking the holeshot and leading
the race. Elliott tried hard to stay with Callum but kept having
trouble at certain points of the track and Callum was getting away,
John-Joe was also closing him down and passed him just before the
bottom jump. Elliott didn't give up and as John-Joe made a mistake
going up the finish straight Elliott re-took second place only to
once again fall of his bike and let John-Joe through. He must of
fell of his bike a dozen times in that first race finally losing
third place to Arron Hughes and finishing fourth.
After
a false start on race two all the riders re-started and Elliott
was the last away and ran into the back of a fallen rider as he
went up the start straight, he got away in next to last place and
was soon working his way through the pack. He only fell once during
the rest of the race and was going through the pack well changing
lines to go pass the slower riders and taking a well earned third
place behind race winner John-Joe Wright and second placed rider
Callum Bircher.
Race
three and Elliott was sitting third overall just in front of Arron
Hughes, but once again he got a poor start and had to catch the
leaders once again, and he did getting himself up into third place
before Callum got the better of him at the bottom of the track.
He then had two or three laps were he was fighting with Dee Jay
Walker for fourth place, they swapped a few time before Elliott
fell on the last lap and Dee Jay was away to claim the fourth place
Elliott finishing fifth and claiming fourth overall.

Elliott
was about fourth place as they headed for the first jump and was
going really well, sitting in the top two or three for the first
few laps, then his bike started with clutch problems. He was nursing
it round even getting off to push it up some of the hills, he finished
eighth.
Race
two and after fitting a new clutch (cheers Huggy) Elliott was flying
round once more, he was fifth by the end of the first lap and catching
the riders in front of him. He battled his way up into third place
and was catching the second place rider, but he had to settle for
a very close third place.
Race
Three and the bike let him down again with one of the clutch bolts
snapping and locking the clutch up half way through the race, but
once again he got it round to pick up his points and finished fifth
overall. Not the best race day!!!

After
the problems he suffered at Penrith with the bike we all wanted
Elliott to do well this weekend and have a trouble free race weekend.
It started really well the bike was running well as was Elliott.
In the first race Elliott was chasing hard after Callum Bircher
with John Joe Wright behind him, Callum was flying and soon opened
up a considerable lead. Elliott fell in the soft sand allowing John
Joe through into second, then Callum fell and the top three were
really close together, Elliott fell once more and Callum took the
win with John Joe taking 2nd and Elliott 3rd.
The
second race was much the same but this time John joe took the win
after a close battle with Callum taking 2nd, Dee Jay had a good
race and took third in front of Elliott. Elliott battled his way
through from the back to take 4th place he needed to finish third
once more to clinch the 3rd place overall.
The
final race on Saturday and once again Callum was at the front with
John Joe chasing hard 1st overall was between those two, Elliott
was once again working his way through the pack after he had fallen
on the second corner. This was to be his only fall and he stormed
through the pack to take the 3rd place behind John Joe in 2nd and
the overall winner Callum.
Sunday
7/5/06
Race
one started badly with Elliott falling on the second corner after
a good start, after being in 3rd he was now pushed back down the
pack, he worked hard to catch up sometimes too hard making mistakes
that would cost him valuable time. He managed to finish in 5th place
and was hoping for better luck in race two.
Once
again he started well but once again he was down in around 10th
place by the end of lap one, he just couldn't get to grips with
the conditions and struggled to make up places he finally finished
in 6th just beating Jordan Mather too the flag.
The
final race of the weekend and Elliott once again had to come from
the back, he worked hard to improve his poor performances in the
earlier races and finally secured 5th place to take 5th overall
on the day.

With
the amount of rain that had fallen in the area the track conditions
were never going to be good, although it was well prepared the water
in some areas was sitting very evidently on top of the track. Elliott’s
practice session went well but after watching the bigger bikes going
round and struggling to get through some parts of the track, we
knew the auto race was going to be a war of attrition. Race one
and Elliott got away well from the gate and was in the top five,
riding well he was moving up the field. The bikes and riders were
starting to struggle with the conditions, clutches were failing
and bikes stopping all over the track. Elliott was still going,
then his back wheel locked up in the sand; he struggled on with
the help of a marshal and finished the race in forth place.
His
clutch was slipping as he crossed the line at the end of race one,
I spent the time between races fitting a new clutch and preparing
the bike for race two. At the start gate he set off well but his
luck was to change very quickly as once again his clutch started
to fail, he never gave up and struggled round once again pushing
the bike if need be. He just kept going and finished in eighth place,
with the bike letting him down it was decided to miss race three
and take the rest of the day preparing the bike for East Cumbria
the following day. On a day when sheer determination to get the
bike past the chequered flag Elliott displayed a never give up attitude
that made us all very proud.

With
the mechanical failings of the day before still worrying us we arrived
at Low Gelt, Brampton, the sun was shinning for the first time during
the weekend. The track was taped out over the flat field with no
jumps, the aim to encourage and develop the new and younger riders
skills by giving them a track that boosts confidence. Being set
in its own field away from the main track there is a more relaxed
atmosphere, parents are encouraged to work together to make the
racing safe and enjoyable for riders as well as spectators and parents.
Elliott took to the line with the nightmare of the day before still
fresh in his mind, he grabbed second place going into the first
corner just behind Callum Bircher. The two of them started to move
away from the chasing pack, Elliott’s bike seamed to be running
really well and Elliott was making Callum work hard defending his
first place. He was really close going up the back straight but
he was to fall of as the back wheel hit a bump and threw the bike
up in the air and Elliott to the floor, the bike landed on him but
with the help of one of the parents helping out on the track he
was soon up and back in the race. Back on the pace and overtaking
the riders in front he was soon up to third before once again having
exactly the same accident again. He finished in fourth, but was
feeling hopeful for the races to come with a lot more confidence
in the bikes performance.
At the start
of race two his bike seamed to stall on the line, leaving him at
the back as they arrived at the first corner, by the end of the
first lap he was forth. But after such a poor start he couldn't
make up the gap in front of him and had to settle for the forth
place. Race three and the start was slightly better giving him forth
position, a few laps later coming down the home straight he was
pushing hard for third place with Matthew Deazley pushing hard behind
him. The rider in front of Elliott fell going into the chicane and
Elliott wasn't able to avoid his bike and fell himself, Matthew
was through into third. Elliott got under way but was now well down
back in fifth place he was unable to catch the leaders but after
a much more enjoyable days racing he finished third overall.

Elliott was
looking forward to the weekends racing; we arrived at the track
on Friday afternoon and set up for the two days racing. Saturday
morning and practice went well but come the time of the race we
couldn't get the bike started, Dee Jay Walker came to the rescue
with his dad offering Elliott DJ’s spare bike to race on (cheers
Huggy). Elliott was sat on the start gate on a bike he had never
ridden before; he got a great start and was second into the first
corner behind Callum Bircher after the first lap Elliott was third
and being chased very hard by Dee Jay. They battled through out
the race neither of them wanted to be beaten, Elliott just held
on to third place as they crossed the finish line. After returning
DJ’s bike we spent the next hour repairing Elliott’s,
with the clutch hub know securely in place we lined up ready for
race two. Elliott was off the line in fifth place and chasing hard
after the leaders, DJ was now in third place in front of Elliott
and was not letting Elliott past him then on the next to last corner
of the last lap Elliott ran out of fuel (Dad the mechanic got it
wrong again) and was kindly pushed over the line by Lee Smith (Cheers
Lee). Elliott finished that race in fifth place and was now in fourth
place overall two points behind DJ. Elliott got another good start
but DJ was close behind chasing hard, Callum was heading for his
third win of the day with Aaron Burns taking his third second place
of the day both unaware of the battle going on behind them. Elliott
was keeping DJ behind him, all the time there seamed to be another
rider between them, DJ wasn't giving up and with only Elliott in
front of him and nobody between them he pushed really hard but he
just didn’t quite catch him finishing only yards behind him.
Elliott had leveled the scores and with beating DJ twice took third
place overall, this overall result was only achieved with the help
of DJ and his family. They had very kindly loaned a bike to one
of their sons rivals so that he could race rather than sit on the
sidelines and watch.
Sunday
4/6/06
Hoping for
a better day but still having problems with the clutch on the bike,
once again we were ready for race one. Elliott got a flier off the
line he went to the first corner first but it was Kyle Peebles that
powered through to take the holeshot. Elliott was second but as
they ended the first lap it was Callum they made the pass of the
weekend as he shot up the inside of Elliott, Kyle and Aaron as they
all crossed the line, Callum had the bike sideways as he jumped
past them landed it and set off to again take the race win. Aaron
was second with Elliott holding on for third place.
Race two and it was Elliott’s worst start of the day, he was
at the back of the pack as they went up the start straight he then
got caught up with some fallen riders and was once again at the
back. Riding really well he was soon catching the riders in front
of him he finished the race in fourth place Johnathan Hughes taking
a well earned third place. The final race and Elliott was battling
with Aaron for second place, Callum had once again taken the win,
Elliott was holding onto second place with Aaron pushing him really
hard, as they went into the last lap Aaron overtook Elliott and
one of the back markers as they approached the cut off. Elliott
chased him right to the flag trying to get back down the inside
as they crossed the lined but missed out by inches and once again
finished third overall.

Elliott took
the opportunity to race his KX65 for the first time at Pilsworth
in this five race shoot out. Fifty riders took part in the Junior
65cc races, they were split into two groups of 25 riders of mixed
abilities. Practice went well on the twisty circuit with Elliott
only coming off his bike once, the fun started on the gate of race
one. Elliott was all set to go and as the gate dropped he dropped
the clutch at which point the bike went skywards sending Elliott
off the back. We picked him and the bike up and sent him on his
way, he rode well and was soon catching the slower riders and finished
in 17th place.
Race two and
this time he got away a lot better but with the track drying out
and the dust starting to rise he struggled at the back of the pack
for a while before starting once again to move through the pack
finishing this time in 14th place. Race three and four and Elliott
once again did well finishing mid pack. After the four races the
riders were once again split into two groups, the top riders out
of the two groups would ride in the main final leaving the other
twenty five riders to race in the B final. He was now ready for
the B final and with a lot of the faster riders racing later Elliott
was more confident off the start line, he got away well and was
this time battling in ninth or tenth place as they headed for the
first corner. During the day Elliott had improved and the confidence
was now making him ride even better, he made up a few places in
the last few laps and finished sixth, he collected his trophy for
31st overall out of the fifty riders. An excellent result for his
first competitive race on his 65, and making us all more confident
in his ability to compete next year when he leaves the auto racing
and moves up to the juniors.

With an engine
rebuild on his KTM Elliott approached this race hopeful that the
bike would complete all three races. The day started with practice
going well and the bike seamed to be running perfectly, so at the
start of race one we were feeling confident of a good placing. Elliott
went up the start straight in fourth place and came out of the first
corner in fifth behind Callum and Aaron, Callum soon opened up a
gap (again!!) leaving Elliott and Aaron to fight it out for second
place behind him. Elliott was battling hard and as the last lap
flag came it was Aaron who was holding second place leaving Elliott
with a gap to make up, Aaron came across the first jump of the last
lap and landed awkwardly going over the bars. Elliott managed to
pass him and he was able to hold on to second place with Aaron recovering
well to take third.
Race two and
with a new clutch fitted in the bike Elliott was sitting in fourth
place behind Callum, Arron and Dan Bewley as they came to the first
jump. Elliott was battling to get past Dan to resume his battle
with Arron, with Callum well out in front. It was a race long battle
between the two once more both of them leading the way and then
making a mistake to let the other rider through but it was Aaron
who took the second place, leaving the final race to be the decider.
The battle
for second was on and Aaron got a flyer and with Dan once again
getting in front of Elliott who was in third place with Callum chasing
hard behind them in fourth. Three laps into the race and Callum
was out in front once again, Aaron had fallen and allowed Elliott
through into second place but he was chasing him hard. A couple
of laps later and Elliott had a big off as he went up the finish
straight and once again Aaron was through and Elliott was forced
back into fourth place. He was quickly back in third and once again
chasing hard after Aaron, he caught and passed Aaron as he once
again got caught out in the sand and Elliott kept his bike upright
for the final two laps to take second place once more and take his
best result of second overall at Gt Salkeld.

Race one and
Elliott got away mid pack but was soon up into third place and chasing
Callum and Aaron. After a few laps Elliott was able to pass Aaron
and open up a small lead, as he came over the first table top he
landed awkwardly fell off the bike allowing Aaron through, he got
back under way and finished third. Race two and it was Aaron and
DJ that were leading the way with Elliott holding third in the race.
A hard charging Callum Bircher after a poor start, caught and passed
Elliott and DJ finishing second with DJ third and Elliott fourth,
with Aaron and Callum on equal points fighting for first place overall,
DJ and Elliott were once again fighting for third and fourth place
the final race would once again be the decider. Elliott’s
start was not his best but he was soon in third place and that’s
were he finished behind Callum and Aaron, once again taking third
overall.
Sunday
9/7/06
After heavy
rain during the night the sand track was going to be really hard
to ride, with deep water and deep mud situated around the track.
Elliott rode really well through the bad conditions and with three
laps to go he was leading the race, he went onto his last lap with
Callum chasing hard behind him. He was now on the final straight
with fifty metres between him and Callum but as he came to rejoin
the main track he fell to the floor allowing Callum through to take
the win, Elliott remounted and finished second. He then went and
rode another excellent race to finish second once again. Then in
the final race he was in a group of four riders fighting for third
place and going into the final corner he was fourth behind Johnathan
Hughes, he once again made a mistake allowing another two riders
through so only managing a sixth place finish. That small mistake
cost him second overall allowing Aaron to beat him by one point,
Elliott finishing third. We had seen Elliott this weekend step up
another level at Haverigg in conditions that he usually struggles
with he had put a lot of effort into his riding. Two small mistakes
costing him his first ever race win at Haverigg and also his highest
ever placing.

First
race start went well and Elliott was third going into the top corner
and in second place coming out of it behind Callum Bircher. With
DJ Walker and Aaron Burns Pushing hard behind him, Elliott couldn't
afford to relax DJ was now really close. Elliott took the wide line
round one of the back markers and DJ took his chance and went down
the inside into second. A couple of laps later Elliott was closing
on DJ and at the bottom of the track DJ fell and Elliott was close
enough to take second place. Callum had now opened up a bit of a
lead but Elliott kept on pushing hard to stay in sight and finished
in second place.
Race
two and this time it was Dee Jay that got the holeshot, Dan Bewley
was in second place, Elliott was third with Aaron and Callum chasing
hard behind him. Callum over the next couple of laps made his way
to the front leaving D J, Elliott and Aaron to fight over second.
Elliott fell at the top of the track and DJ was away and clear to
take second place, Elliott held on to finish third.
Race
three and with Elliott and DJ sitting level on points and Aaron
not far behind the last race was going to be very competitive. Once
again Callum got away in front and once again DJ, Elliott and Aaron
were closely matched and never more than a few yards apart. They
were all making the most of each others mistakes and the placing's
were changing with every couple of laps, Elliott at one point nearly
ran over his Mum as she lifted a fallen rider back onto his bike.
Aaron was now along side Elliott as they hit the table top and as
they hit the next left hand corner Elliott was just able to take
the inside line and hold on to his second place, crossing the line
with Aaron only inches behind in third. Elliott finished second
overall once again.

Due
to the amount of rain that fell on the track in the days running
up to the Saturday morning race day, the decision to cancel the
days racing was not unexpected. The weather changed and the track
dried out, we were all set for a good days racing. Practice went
well and Elliott was ready for his first race, his start wasn’t
bad but he got caught up on the first corner only coming out of
it in eighth place, riding well he was up to sixth place within
the next couple laps. He battled on but the gap was too big for
him to catch the leaders. Callum eventually taking the win followed
very closely by Aaron and then Dee Jay, Elliott finished fourth.
Race two and
Elliott repeated his poor first corner and was playing catch up
once again. He seamed faster this time round and managed to make
some really good passes on his way through to a hard earned third
place finish. Callum once again took the win, Dee Jay finished second.
With only four points separating 2nd and 4th places the third race
was going to be interesting.
Elliott was
last coming out of turn one he was chasing hard altering his lines
to take the riders in front, he was now in fourth place and chasing
hard after Dee Jay trying to take the third place. With Aaron taking
the final win of the championship, Callum finishing second to take
the championship at Cumbria Youth. With two laps to go Elliott and
Dee Jay were battling all the way round for third, Dee Jay took
the last lap flag, ten metres behind Elliott was really pushing
hard. The final straight and Elliott was right behind and at the
last corner there was half a bike length between them but it was
Dee Jay who took third place finishing third overall. Elliott had
finished fourth overall on the day, earning enough points to take
third in the Championship.

First
race and Elliott had a poor start but worse was to follow as he
started his second lap his head gasket failed and that was him forced
out of the race. He was gutted to say the least, I want to go up
on the 65's he said. With help from Huggie, Weebo, Jeff and the
guy with the drill (thanks guys) we got him running again.
Race
two and once again he struggled off the line and went into the first
corner last, he made up a lot of places and by the end of the first
lap he was fifth chasing after DJ and Jay Haig in 3rd and 4th. Two
laps later and DJ fell right in front of Jay and Elliott was able
to take third, but it was short lived as Elliott fell twice letting
them both back through, so finishing in 5th place.
Final
race and there he was last again but once more he fought back this
time taking 2nd place and as they went into the last lap he fell
once more and Aaron was able to take 2nd leaving Elliott to finish
3rd.

After
an early morning top end rebuild of Elliott’s bike (thanks
Weebo), we were ready for practice. The grass covered track was
very slippery, but everybody coped quite well with the conditions.
Race one and
it was Callum and Elliott who got away first and after three or
four laps they had started to open a small gap to the chasing pack
of Bradley, DJ, Matt and Martin all battling away. Elliott was not
letting Callum get away, they both rode really well. Elliott was
riding hard trying to get that first place position but he was not
able to pass Callum who took the win followed by Elliott.
Race two and
Elliott surprised us all with a holeshot but it was short lived
as Callum took him on the next corner and started to move away.
Elliott never gave up but he wasn’t able to close the gap,
once again finishing in second place.
Race three
and this time Callum got away and Elliott had a poor start but was
soon up to third behind Martin Crooks. They swapped places a couple
of times before Elliott made a pass and was able to chase Callum,
but by this time the gap was too big and once again he had to settle
for second place. He finished second overall and it cost me a £10
reward for the holeshot in race two (glad he doesn't get too many),
so he was quite pleased with himself.

Elliott for once had a good start and with a couple of riders falling
on the first corner Elliott came down to the table top in second
place, Callum Bircher once again leading the way. Callum twice opened
up a gap only to fall and allow Elliott to close up on him once
again, as they headed for the tight left hander after the tabletop
for the next to last lap Elliott fell and once more Callum opened
up a lead but Elliott wasn't giving up. Going into the last lap
Elliott was gaining on Callum and as they both headed for the last
couple of bends there was only a couple of metres between them.
Elliott went for the outside line with Callum on the inside and
as they went up the finish straight Elliott was getting closer and
closer, they hit the finish line virtually together but Callum just
hung on for the win.
Race
two was a repeat performance with Elliott and Callum once again
at the front, Elliott kept trying to catch him getting within a
few yards before allowing Callum to move away. The last lap flag
came out and Elliott made one last push for the lead. He was catching
Callum and as they both went over the final jump Callum's bike stopped
allowing Elliott through to take the win, his first ever at Northern
Youth. Callum finished 6th his Dad carrying his bike over the line
after the rear brake had seized on, Elliott was now poised for his
first overall win of the season.
With
a seven point lead over the rest of the riders Elliott knew if he
finished in the top three in the last race the overall win would
be his, once again a first for the year. The start went well Callum
was away in first place with Elliott, Dee Jay and Aaron all fighting
for second. Elliott was battling well but soon found himself in
fourth place, Aaron and DJ nearly collided coming out of the final
corners of lap four and Elliott couldn't take advantage. Still in
fourth place he tried desperately to catch them, maybe he tried
to hard knowing what was at stake. He fell numerous times in the
last few laps, something he hadn't done all day. Forth place it
was as he finished the race, he was devastated to finish on the
same points as Callum, Callum taking the overall finishing with
two wins ahead of Elliott's one.
Elliott
we think has finished fourth in the championship this season at
NYMXC in a year when if his bike has not let him down (3 rnds sorry
son), he has always been able to compete at the front. He finished
2nd in three of the seven rounds. Well done!!

Elliott
was leading the championship going into the last meeting by 33 points
from Bradley Mann in second, so as long as he completed the three
races he would win the championship. So nervously we headed down
to the start line for the first race of the day, Elliott knew what
he had to do, don't make any mistakes and stay close or in front
of Bradley Mann and Matt deazley his closest rivals for the championship.
Elliott got away last whilst Callum and DJ battled away at the front,
he passed Brad and Matt and was catching Martin Crooks, He got too
close to Martin as they came down the straight and he fell to the
floor. DJ now leading with Callum close behind lapped Elliott as
he was once again struggling to pass Martin. As soon as they lapped
Elliott he passed Martin and set off after them, still a lap behind
them he had made it into third place. That's how race one ended
with DJ taking the win a lap in front of Elliott in third, with
Callum second.
Second
race and once again Elliott was the last to leave the line Callum,
DJ and Martin were in front of him Matt and Bradley behind. This
time Elliott managed to stay with the leaders, Callum opened up
a bit of a lead this time but the three behind were close together,
DJ leading the race for second. DJ had a big off as they went up
the back straight and Martin also fell allowing Elliott through
into second place, Callum won with Elliott second.
Final
race of Elliott's auto season and knowing all he had to do was finish
the race to take the championship he rode round in fourth place
staying out of trouble and enjoying his final race in the autos
before moving up to the Junior class on his 65.
Elliott
finished 1st at ECMXC, 3rd at CYMXC and 4th at NYMXC this season
and apart from his KTM letting him down (cheers Dad the mechanic)
he has enjoyed his racing this year. A few times he has asked could
he move up to the Junior class but he's stuck with it and reaped
the rewards for his hard work. I would like to thank everybody for
there support and encouragement for Elliott during the season, I
know it means a lot to him.

Elliott
was really looking forward to the winter series, racing on his Kawasaki
KX65 for the first time since he competed in the Vale mxc Junior
shootout in June of this year. The day didn't start too well as
he missed his practice session but once the Adult's had been out,
he was allowed to do one lap of the track. He did it and made it
round without falling of, a real confidence boost for all of us.
Race
one and he got out of the gate quite well and was soon in the middle
of the sixteen riders and that's were he stayed till he came round
for the next lap. As he went down the straight towards turn two
he fell and with nobody there to help get him back on he lost quite
a few places, he struggled in the mud for a while before he could
get going again. He only fell once more during the race and made
up a couple of places on the final lap to finish in 11th.
He
got his worst start of the day in race two and was in last place,
he picked up a couple of places as he came out of turn three as
other riders were struggling for traction in the deep wet sand.
Working really hard to keep the bike upright he managed to finish
in tenth place, he was now in ninth place overall with the final
race still to come.
His
best start of the day but he struggled into turn two and then once
again at turn four, dropping the bike. Sitting in eighth as he went
into the last lap he was passed by a few riders, only making one
place back as he came up the finish hill for the final time. Finishing
10th in the final race and 10th overall. He enjoyed the racing but
found it hard work in the deep sand, a big thank you to all the
runners positioned around the track who picked him up and kept him
going.
